The Malaysian unit of currency is called the Ringgit (RM). Foreign exchange booths are available all over Penang, but we advise that you bring enough expenditure for the 3 days during the conference. Major credit cards like American Express, MasterCard and Visa credit cards are widely accepted at most places.
We’d advise you to pack for a tropical climate as Penang experiences temperatures ranging from 21°C (69.8°F) to a high of 32°C (90°F) all year round, with some plentiful rainfall during its monsoon season from April to September.
Prepaid sim cards based on selected durations are available upon arrival at the airport should you require one. High speed wireless connection is also available at the conference venue (Setia SPICE Convention Centre), hotels, cafes and shopping malls, many with complimentary usage.
